BMV Battery Monitors

BMV is a precision battery monitor consisting of a display panel and an included 500 A / 50 mV shunt. The shunt is installed on the battery negative so that the current flowing into and out of the battery bank passes through it. The monitor measures current and voltage and calculates power, ampere-hours consumed, state of charge (SOC) in %, and estimated time to go — effectively acting as a battery “fuel gauge”. BMV models include a programmable alarm and relay, which can be used, for example, to disconnect non-essential loads or start a generator, as well as a VE.Direct port for connection to Victron GX devices. SmartShunt provides the same monitoring function but without an integrated display: readings are accessed via Bluetooth or a GX device. Choose a BMV when you want the readings available directly on a panel.

Available models: BMV-700 is the basic model for 6.5–95 VDC systems. BMV-702 adds an auxiliary input that can measure the voltage of a second battery, such as a starter battery, the midpoint voltage of a series-connected battery bank, or battery temperature when the optional sensor is installed. BMV-712 Smart provides the BMV-702 functions and adds built-in Bluetooth for configuration, monitoring, and history in the VictronConnect app; it also has lower self-consumption of less than 1 mA and operates at 6.5–70 VDC. BMV-700H and BMV-710H Smart are designed for high-voltage systems, with a 60–385 VDC range; the shunt is housed in a dedicated enclosure, and the BMV-710H Smart has built-in Bluetooth. BLACK versions have a black front panel instead of the standard light grey one, while Retail versions are the same products supplied in retail packaging.
