VICTRON ENERGY - BAM010700100 - Battery Monitor BMV-700H

The BMV-700H is the BMV-700 built for high-voltage battery banks: 60 to 385 V DC. It gives the same state of charge, time to go, ampere-hours and history as the standard BMV, on banks where a 12–95 V monitor cannot be connected — traction batteries, telecom and industrial DC systems, large series strings.

This variant: standard light-grey front, standard packaging.

How it works

Because of the voltage, the 500 A shunt is supplied inside an insulated enclosure (four 3.5 mm mounting holes in its base) instead of as a bare shunt. The enclosure goes in the bank’s negative lead, every amp in and out passes through it, and the head unit integrates the current over time to show voltage, current, power, ampere-hours consumed, state of charge and time to go, and to keep the lifetime history (deepest discharge, cycles, full discharges, cumulative Ah, minimum and maximum voltage). The head unit is powered from the bank through the fused cable — no separate low-voltage supply is needed. A bistable relay (60 V / 1 A) can drop loads or start a generator; the VE.Direct port connects to a GX device or, through the optional VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle, to the VictronConnect app.

How it differs from the other BMV models

The BMV-700H has no auxiliary input (no second battery, midpoint or temperature) and no Bluetooth built in. The BMV-710H Smart is the same high-voltage monitor with Bluetooth inside and a self-consumption of < 1 mA instead of < 4 mA. For 12 / 24 / 48 V banks use the ordinary BMV-700 / 702 / 712 Smart. Note from the datasheet: the monitor is not isolated from the shunt, so it is suitable for systems with a grounded negative only. Voltages above 50 V DC are dangerous — installation by a qualified person, with the system de-energised.
