-According to EN 50618, Annex A, inside the tube / pipe / channel, plaster and electrical installation apparatus, as well as inside or connected to a double insulated / protected apparatus or to a protection class II system
-Photovoltaic systems with DC system voltage up to max. 1800 V to ground

-Increased mechanical strength, e.g. on impact;
Direct installation in cable trenches made by professionals (cf. section 4.2 of VDE 0891-6 or section 300.5 of article 300 of NFPA 70/NEC - US National Electrical Code) with or without additional protection system.
When using an additional protection system, buried, exposure of the outer insulation of the cable to contaminated water or flooding of the protection tube must be avoided.
