The Telemecanique Sensors Preventa XPSLCMUT1160 is a safety module that adds the muting function to type 2 and type 4 safety light curtains. A light curtain protects an opening where an operator could reach into a dangerous zone. Muting lets the machine temporarily ignore the curtain while a pallet or a workpiece passes through it, using two muting sensors (through-beam, reflex or polarised reflex photoelectric sensors) that confirm material, not a person, is crossing. The module handles the muting sequence with a 4 s synchronisation window and a muting duration of 30 s or unlimited, drives the mandatory muting lamp and provides 2 safety relay outputs plus a PNP status output.
Correctly wired into the control system it reaches PL e / category 4 (EN ISO 13849-1) and SILCL 3 (EN IEC 62061). It is intended for integrators of conveyors, palletisers, presses and packaging lines equipped with XUSL or other type 2 / type 4 light curtains. Supply 24 V DC, 35 mm DIN rail mounting, screw terminals, 6 status LEDs.
