VICTRON ENERGY - REL300300000 - Energy Meter ET340 - 3 phase - max 65A/phase

Victron Energy ET340 (REL300300000) is a three-phase energy meter with direct measurement up to 65 A per phase, designed for integration into Victron systems. It connects over RS485 to a GX device (Cerbo GX, Ekrano GX, Venus GX or Color Control GX), allowing measured values to be monitored in real time on the GX interface and in the VRM portal.

Four operating roles, configured from the GX device

• Grid meter – provides the ESS with accurate information about energy imported from and exported to the grid. This information is used for self-consumption control and zero-feed-in operation. More about Victron ESS.
• PV inverter meter – measures the output of an AC-coupled PV inverter when it has no direct data connection to the GX device.
• Generator meter – measures the power supplied by an AC generator.
• AC load meter – monitors a dedicated load circuit such as a heat pump, air conditioner, workshop or EV charger.

Three-phase, but also suitable for single-phase installations

The ET340 can also be configured for single-phase installations. Select Phase type → Single phase in the GX device and the meter can measure directly up to 65 A. At 230 V, this corresponds to approximately 15 kW, making it suitable even for domestic connections protected at 40 A or 63 A.

The ET340 also supports a single-phase dual-function mode: L1 can measure the grid while L2 measures a single-phase PV inverter. One meter can therefore provide both measurements in a Victron installation.

Direct measurement up to 65 A, without current transformers

For currents up to 65 A per phase, the conductors connect directly to the meter terminals, supporting 2.5–16 mm² conductors. No current transformers (CTs), secondary wiring or transformer ratios are required. The ET340 is powered directly from the measured voltage and does not require a separate power supply.

Connection to the GX device

• Wired – use a Victron RS485 to USB interface, available in 1.8 m or 5 m versions. The connection can be extended up to 100 m using a twisted pair for Data+ / Data−.
• Wireless – use a Zigbee to USB converter at the GX device and a Zigbee to RS485 converter at the meter.

The ET340 has no built-in display. The green LED indicates that the meter is powered, while the red LED flashes during communication. Configuration and readings are handled through the GX device. Because the Modbus address cannot be changed directly on the meter, each ET340 in a system requires its own RS485 to USB interface.

What else you need for integration into a Victron system

The ET340 is intended to be used together with a GX device, which handles configuration and data display, and an RS485 to USB interface or a pair of Zigbee converters for communication. These components are ordered separately and are not included with the ET340.
