DESCRIPTION

The Megger MIT200 series are among the most compact insulation testers available on the market today, and the MIT230 is the top model of the range, offering all three test voltages: 250 V, 500 V and 1000 V. The display combines a digital readout with an analogue arc using Megger’s patented DART technology, so it offers the clear, accurate readings of an LCD together with an analogue pointer response for evaluating circuit charge and discharge characteristics. The tough ABS housing is designed to withstand hard day-to-day use and is small enough to drop into a pocket or tool bag.

Insulation testing – auto-ranging insulation measurement from 10 kΩ up to 1000 MΩ on all ranges; automatic discharge ensures that circuits under test are safely discharged after the test, and the 1000 V range gives a high-voltage warning before the test voltage is applied.

Continuity testing – automatic continuity testing at >200 mA (autostart, no need to press the test button, so both hands are free for the probes), 0.01 Ω resolution up to 100 Ω, test-lead null up to 9.99 Ω and a continuity buzzer with a 2 Ω threshold for rapid cable and circuit identification.

Safety – a built-in voltmeter is automatically activated and displays the system voltage when the instrument is connected to a circuit above 25 V AC or DC; testing is inhibited on circuits above 50 V on both continuity and insulation ranges. Meets IEC 61010-1 CAT III 600 V and EN 61557. Battery requirements are 6 x AA (alkaline or NiMH rechargeable) with a four-segment battery-condition indicator; auto power-down after 10 minutes in standby.

Testing of electrical installations (domestic and industrial, VDE 0413 / BS 7671), site maintenance and service departments, domestic appliances, power tools, transformers, motors, generators, switchgear, electrical panels and fixed wiring systems.
